Back To Panera and Probably Goodbye

 I used to eat at Panera Bread in North Little Rock all the time. The ‘choose two’ has been a favorite of mine for years, so the other day I stopped in for old times sake.

 

The tomato basil soup was as good as ever, warm, rich, familiar. I tried one of the new chicken salads (arugula, broccoli, red cabbage, grilled chicken), and it was just okay. But the bread, wow, same as ever! Crusty, fresh, delicious! No butter packets!!! I guess I could have asked for butter, however I’m sure I would have gotten one little packet and that’s hardly worth the effort. 😢Oh well, I saved a hundred calories on that decision. 

What has changed significantly is the price for this self serve lunch. Soup, salad, and iced tea all served (and table cleared) by myself and the bill was around $20 bucks. True confession: I added a tip at the register, I know this is probably not necessary at Panera Bread but they are so sweet and kind looking behind that counter. Why am I forever tipping so people will like me???! I gotta work on that…
